Crisi a l´Orient Mitjà: perdent la contenció   El segrest per part de faccions palestines del soldat israelià Gilad Shalit i la desproporcionada resposta oferta per Israel, amb la seva primera incursió a la Franja de Gaza des de la seva retirada unilateral l’any 2005, compliquen encara més la difícil situació derivada de la victòria electoral de Hamàs als territoris palestins i la seva negativa a reconèixer el dret a l’existència de l’estat d’Israel. Els nous esdeveniments configuren un escenari amb grans incerteses pel que fa al comportament futur tant del govern israelià d’Ehud Olmert com del govern palestí de Hamàs, sobretot respecte a la contenció que solia caracteritzar les seves accions i que, malgrat el que ha passat, encara no han abandonat completament.
